Norway

Norway is a country of deep fjords, high mountains and a long coastline, where the scenery changes with every bend in the road. Along the western coast, fjords cut far inland between steep cliffs, with waterfalls pouring down from the heights and small villages sitting at the water's edge. Inland, high plateaus and glaciers stretch as far as you can see. In the far north, jagged island peaks rise straight out of the Arctic Sea. Norway's cities are just as inviting. Oslo, the capital, combines bold modern architecture with world-class museums and a relaxed waterfront. Bergen, the gateway to the fjords, charms visitors with its colourful wooden wharf, busy fish market and seven surrounding mountains. Further north, the Lofoten Islands offer red fishermen's cabins, white-sand beaches and some of the most dramatic landscapes in Scandinavia.
