Lake Saimaa is the largest lake in Finland and the fourth largest in Europe
With 15 000 km of shoreline (more than Spain!) connecting several larger towns and smaller villages, it offers beautiful, pure nature and plenty of activities for every season. Its sparkling waters are dotted with forested islands and peninsulas and it is also home to the rarest seal in the world, Saimaa Ringed Seal, with only c. 480 individuals existing in the region today.
